Vienna Design Week 2026 is Austria’s largest international design festival, taking place in Vienna from September 25 to October 4, 2026. This year, the event marks its 20th anniversary. The festival is interdisciplinary in nature: rather than being a traditional commercial trade fair, it serves as a platform to showcase how design shapes our daily lives, the urban environment, and society.
Each year, the festival shifts its focus to a different district and changes the location of its main headquarters. In 2026, the headquarters will be housed in the former Allianz insurance company high-rise at Hietzinger Kai 101, designed by the renowned Austrian architect Harry Glück. The building’s office floors, kindergarten, and even its bowling alley will be temporarily transformed into exhibition spaces, showcasing a creative reimagining of vacant urban architecture.
