The Stuttgart Christmas Market (Stuttgarter Weihnachtsmarkt) is one of the oldest, largest, and most beautiful Christmas markets in all of Europe. Its history spans more than 300 years (the first documented mention dates back to 1692).
Stuttgart’s signature feature is the incredibly ornate roofs of its market stalls. Vendors compete for the title of the most beautiful stall, creating elaborate moving displays on the rooftops featuring figures of Santa Claus, angels, reindeer, and scenes from winter fairy tales.
