Óbidos Vila Natal is Portugal’s premier and most famous Christmas village, set up annually within the ancient medieval town of Óbidos, located about an hour’s drive north of Lisbon. During the festive season, the entire historic center—enclosed by fortress walls—transforms into a vast open-air themed amusement park.
Visitors can sample traditional seasonal treats and the famous local cherry liqueur served in chocolate cups (Ginjinha de Óbidos).
