Barcelona New Year’s Eve 2026/27 (known in Catalan as “Cap d’Any”) marks the celebration of the arrival of the year 2027 in Barcelona. In Spain, this night is called “Nochevieja” (“Old Night”). The festivities combine unique local traditions, large-scale free open-air shows, and club parties that last until dawn.
The most important ritual of the holiday is eating 12 grapes as the clock strikes twelve at midnight. With each stroke of the clock, one must eat a grape and make a wish. Spaniards believe this brings good luck for all 12 months of the coming year.
