The Elche Mystery Play (Spanish: Misterio de Elche, Catalan: Misteri d’Elx) is a unique religious musical drama from the Middle Ages, included in the UNESCO List of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. The performance traditionally takes place in the city of Elche (Alicante Province) in mid-August and is dedicated to the Assumption and Coronation of the Virgin Mary.
