Winterlights 2026 is an annual Christmas festival and series of holiday markets that transform the capital of Luxembourg into a winter wonderland. For the 2026 season, the festival will officially run from November 20, 2026, to January 3, 2027.
Key locations and attractions:
Christmas markets — around 100 wooden chalets offering souvenirs and handicrafts spring up across the city center and in the Gare district.
Gastronomy — the fairs serve traditional Luxembourgish potato pancakes (“Gromperekichelcher”), local mulled wine (“Glühwéin”), and sausages.
Attractions: a Ferris wheel, a festive mini-train for children, and an ice rink overlooking the picturesque Pétrusse Valley are being set up for guests.
Cultural program — the festival regularly features live concerts, exhibitions, street performances, and creative workshops for children.
The festival is organized by the city authorities of Luxembourg and is the main event of the country’s winter tourist season.
