This is the 80th anniversary edition of one of the largest international performing arts events.
South Korean performing arts will be the central theme. Many productions will be presented in Korean with subtitles.
Running alongside the main festival, the independent Festival Off Avignon will take place across the city, featuring hundreds of alternative theater troupes.
